Chester Brown, FSS Board Member
Chester Brown was born in here in Amarillo and grew up on a small cattle ranch in New Mexico where he learned a strong work ethic and to stand up for what you believe.
After high school, Chester attended Texas Tech University as an Agricultural Communications major. After recognizing he did not want to be a journalist for his career, Chester transferred to the engineering college to pursue a Mechanical Engineering degree.
Upon graduation in 2007, Chester started working for Xcel Energy as a distribution engineer in Seminole, TX. Throughout the next four years he worked throughout the South Plains and then accepted a management position with Xcel Energy and moved to Amarillo in 2012. Later that year, Chester received his Professional Engineering licensure in Texas and New Mexico.
Currently, Chester holds the position of Director of Design and Construction for the Texas Panhandle. In 2015, he was named to the Top 20 Under 40 list by the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce and in 2016 received the same honor from the Engineering News Record for Texas and Louisiana.
