Fatherhood/Male Involvement Coach
Family Support Services (FSS) is seeking a Fatherhood/Male Involvement Coach to work within the Project HOPES home visitation contract funded through the Prevention and Early Intervention division of the Department of Family and Protective Services.
This employee works directly with young men, fathers, and families to engage them in activities that will contribute to improved self-sufficiency and life opportunities for the children. Spanish speaking skills preferred. The position is focused on developing life skills, promoting active fatherhood, and positive youth development. It includes home visitation to eligible families to provide parent education. Responsibilities include individual and group work, conducting child development assessments, and responding per program guidelines. Staff will establish and maintain solid working relationships with service providers and community members.
Education and knowledge of Home Visiting, Early Childhood Development, Youth Development, Father Engagement, and Male Involvement as well as experience with the diversity of families is required.
FATHERHOOD/MALE INVOLVEMENT: Outreach, enroll and develop relationships with young men, fathers and father-figures for successful completion of the 24/7 Dads and Love Notes programs. The Fatherhood/Male Involvement Coach will also provide input on the development and enhancement of services for men and adolescents agency and community-wide.

QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED SKILLS and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Social Work or related field is preferred, with coursework in early child development, family development, mental health. A minimum of two years working with families and children from birth to two years is preferred. Experience in multi-cultural settings, with training and/or understanding of how culture impacts family development is essential. Good communication skills, ability to relate to different types of people in various circumstances and create a relationship of trust and support. Familiarity with client management information systems. Must have valid Texas Drivers License and insured car available for work.
