NOTICE OF OPEN POSITION at Family Support Services of Amarillo:
Strengthening Families Program Parent Specialist
Classification: Full-time Non-Exempt
Family Support Services is currently seeking a motivated individual to serve as on a team as a Strengthening Families Parent Specialist for our Strengthening Families Program. This position is for an experienced trainer and consultant with knowledge of family strengthening practice (i.e. strength based approaches, including integrating the Strengthening Families Framework into daily practice, as it relates to child development, organizational sustainability, community development, evaluation, cultural proficiency, working with underserved populations, case management, and home visiting, among other subjects). The individual in the position provides technical assistance, training, coaching, and facilitation in the Strengthening Families Program Framework, as well as a range of subjects for the project, while working closely with other team members on strategies to prevent the abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. Additionally, this staff member serves as a parent liaison to key school and community partners.

Minimal travel in Texas is required for training purposes only. Flexible hours for program activities. Ability to work effectively via remote connection.
Qualifications and job requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, public administration, education, or related field. Relevant work experience will be considered in the case the applicant does not possess a degree.
• At least 4-5 years progressively responsible employment in managing family based programs or nonprofit management.
• At least 3 years in which meeting facilitation, training, technical assistance, or coaching were part of the job description. Proven record of professional development in this area of work.
• Must possess a valid, unrestricted Texas Driver’s and a driving record that meets the requirements outlined in the Agency’s Personnel Policy; Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
